Last week, I was thinking about how much I enjoy the extravagant things in life, things that often come with a hefty price tag. However, since student loans will haunt me for the rest of my life, I am reserved to lead more of an affordable lifestyle. And then, I saw a lightbulb, or in actuality, a pair of brooches.
Who can forget these? They're striking, memorable, and are associated with a giant personalized closet. Miss Carrie wore them well. As I was cleaning my closet, I remembered I had these.
They are fabulous statement making shoes, but they felt a little too trendy after the neon burst of this past year. I wanted to spice them up a bit and turn fabulous into FAAAHBULOUS, Darling.
And here they are! Clip some brooches on and voila! What do you think? I'm thinking I want to add sparkly brooches to all of my shoes!

Furry Friends
Ever since the Alexander Wang Simona cape heel came out, I've been lusting after some fur shoes. Well, it probably started somewhere around the Clueless era and traveled with me into Carrie Bradshaw land until it came time for the Wang dynasty.
Who wouldn't want these bad boys (or girls, perhaps)? However, I didn't and still don't have a spare $895 lying around. I can't even afford the the $350 sale versions. I thought about bedrooms slippers, but they looked cheap in more way than one. I even considered doing a DIY version, but I never found a proper craft fur. And then one day, these happened.
I found them on Ebay for $78 with free shipping! I used some Christmas money and made it happen. They are Italian and beyond fabulous! I now have furry shoes and I can never look back. I'm in love!

Nudes.
I saw these a while ago on Piperlime, but didn't want to spend the money. Luckily, they ran a 20% off promotion and I knew I had to get them at a mere $30. Well, that and I had a minor panic attack when I couldn't find them on the site. Luckily, I can wear them all day to work and then out for play. They also come in black, so of course I'll have to buy those too.

A Feel Better Look
Sometimes we all have those down days. Sometimes just nothing works and you're just in a slump. The only way I know (besides highly-caloric sweets) is to add some fun accessories to my everyday all-black look.
Wearing: Elizabeth & James scuba pants, Uniqlo shirt, Zara vest, Givenchy Nightingale bag, Luxirare bracelet, Topshop heels
PS-There is nothing to worry about, little ones. I've just been a little off lately. However, there's nothing like some highlighter pink shoes to kick you back into yourself in no time.

Hello, J. Crew
Even though J. Crew has become a major fashion player these days, I still have this urge to think of them as nautical and preppy. Although some of their pieces have those undertones, each season they surprise me more and more (in a good way, of course!)
Yes please! These are so glam, I can't even count the ways! I love the multiple buckles; very dominatrix. The color is completely stunning and in satin? Swoon!
I hate rain boots. They are bulky, make weird noises, and usually end up splitting at unconvenient times (ie-when it's raining). Look at this chic little option! It's compact (easily stored in your purse until it actually rains), fashionable, and functional. I want one in every color.
I love this version of snakeskin. It seems more authentic and genuine rather than the typical snakeskin print we see. It's the perfect shape and could almost function as a neutral heel. Lusting.
What do you think of J. Crew?

Ruby Red Slippers
The other day, I saw this DIY idea and it literally took over me (Seriously, I was scouring Amazon for glitter that very second). Glitter shoes? For me? Oh yes!
Although I love the gold (which I may DIY at a later date), I love the idea of a red glitter pump. How did I do this, you ask? Follow me!
You'll need: Glue, Glitter, Paintbrush, Nail File/Buffer (or you can use sandpaper)
1. File/buff the shoes. They'll get a distressed look and you may get some dye on you (only temporary).
2. Mix a little cup with glue and glitter. I didn't use an exact proportion, but too much glitter will cause the mixture to get dry. Try to avoid that.
3. Paint your shoes! As much as you'll want to load up with gobs of the mixture, don't. It will get runny and lumpy, believe me. Paint a thin coat, let it dry a little, and repeat as many times as you find necessary. I did about 3.5 coats.
All in all, it took me about 2 hours, but it was time well spent. I am usually terrified of DIY because I have a penchant for destroying things, but this time it was very relaxing and therapeutic. And I feel a tad bit closer to Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, especially with all these natural disasters coming our way. Everyone be safe!
If anyone wants a pair (of your color choice), email me with your request!

Change
The seasons are changing and I suppose I should too. I've always been very safe with my purchases for a few reasons. 1. I like the same thing. As boyfriend says, he could walk in Zara and buy any silk shirt in black or white and I would love it. It's kind of sad, but oh so true. 2. I have a limited budget and I refuse to get into any financial trouble because of clothing. 3. I work in a conservative environment. As much as I would love to wear whatever I want, I can't, because I have a job. Otherwise, problem #2 will become even more of a problem.
On Sunday, boyfriend and I went shopping (he's becoming really great and patient, too!) in Soho. I took a little bit of a leap in some of my purchases. Take a look!
I've never been a mary-jane person. I'm a stiletto girl for life. I also usually only pick up black, nude, or animal print. However, these are so comfortable and very chic. I couldn't resist.
Yep. I got one. A black leather tee. It's gorgeous, instantly luxe, and super BA (badass for those of you out of the loop). I can't wait to wear it with jeans.
Yes, it's a Zara silk button-up! But....it's mint green! That's different!
Everyone knows I love snake print. I loved this because it has a hint of baby blue in it, which is a color I usually don't touch.
How do you think I did? Do you stick to your usual uniform or do you find yourself always craving change?

OMG Shoes!
I would like to make a promise. I'm really good at promises. I keep them and everything! I promise you, sweet readers of mine, that this will NOT turn into a wedding blog. There are entirely too many facets of my life and style to solely focus on having a bridal bonanza. That being said, today we're going to look at some shoes, that may or may not be potential wedding shoes. Eek! Don't kill me, they are still fashion and not gaudy rhinestone numbers!
I like the daintyness and retro feel to these. I love the baby blue color, but I'm considering purple.
These are very diva-licious and fulfill my inner-princess dream. I have never been the glitter type, but I'm somehow drawn to these more than I should be.
So yes, it's a little more "bridal" and yes, its very dramatic. Maybe I secretly want to be Selita Ebanks in the Kanye West "Runaway" video? Maybe it's because I will also be wearing a feather fascinator on my head? Either way, I love these babies.
What are your thoughts? Which one do you like?
