HELP!

I will apologize in advance for the influx of wedding talk this week, but after you see why I am talking about wedding stuff, you might forgive me.  As you know, I'm a planner extraordinaire, except when it comes to important things like weather.  Our wedding will be in Sydney, Australia in June.  For all of you privy to the weather down under, that means it will be winter. Doh!  My dress? It's backless.  I foresee a problem.

Basically, I need a shawl/wrap.  I thought I found the one I wanted, but then I stumbled upon another one.  I won't let you know which one is which, as to not skew your opinion.  So I need your help.  (And apparently you love voting!)  Which shawl should I choose?

With This Ring

Unlike most girls, I never dreamed about my wedding day.  I didn't have an ideal dress, the perfect colors, or even the type of flowers picked out.  I've always seen weddings for more of what they're really about: the love and the marriage.  To me, nothing else really matters except being with the man I never thought actually existed.

I actually found the Fabuluster wedding bands when I was working in buying.  I knew if the day ever came to get married, I wanted these rings to be on my finger.  Engraving is nice, but your love's fingerprint on your ring?  It makes my inner romantic's heart go pitter patter.

We ordered them on our 22 month anniversary (yes, we celebrate the 11th of each month)!  We received our packet within two days and started the process. Basically, you receive a kit, confirm all of the ring details, and take your fingerprint.  I wouldn't divulge any specifics, because I understand and appreciate the hard work they put into this. It's completely organized and easy enough to understand.  We should have our custom rings back within a few months, when of course I will share the results with you!

Only 155 more days to go until the big day!

The Bouquet

Some of you requested to see my bouquet, so here it is!  I decided to go with an artificial bouquet for a few reasons.  1. I can keep it for sentiment. 2. It will be easy for travel and planning, since we're eloping in Australia. 3. They're about the same price.

It hails from Cre8tive Designs on Etsy.  It was a custom order and I couldn't be happier.  Also, that's my dress in the background, so I know it will look great when the day comes.

Wedding Jewels

I try to keep my wedding talks off this blog and over on this one, but I couldn't help but share these with you.  I'd been fretting over the jewelry for quite a while.  Then, I saw my friend Sarah wearing this really gorgeous bracelet.  She said it came in a set with a necklace and that I could have it.  It's silver with wonderful detailing and pink seashells.  Considering my love for the sea and my pink shoes, I knew it was the perfect fit.

Sweetest of the Sweet

I honestly couldn't wait to share this with you today.  I've been bugging the boy about packages, the mailman, and deliveries.  I've been waiting on the sweetest delivery yet.

So, let me back up a second.  I used to work with Figs & Ginger when I was in buying.  They are some of the nicest people I have ever met in the retail world.  It was started by Rhonda & Elijah, the cutest couple ever.  Sneak a peak at this little video of them below (Warning: This video is extremely charming and you may be very warm & fuzzy inside.)

They actually began making eco-friendly jewelry inspired by nature and just recently began offering wedding/party pieces!  After I inquired with them about their new collection, they graciously sent me these pieces since my nuptials will be coming up soon.  I can't wait to put them on our actual cake and have them in our pictures.  Since they are wooden, we will be able to keep them for a lifetime and possibly put them in a memory shadowbox or scrapbook.

Please check out their shop, Figs & Ginger.  They have beautiful handmade pieces literally made with love.

OMG Shoes!

I would like to make a promise. I'm really good at promises. I keep them and everything!  I promise you, sweet readers of mine, that this will NOT turn into a wedding blog.  There are entirely too many facets of my life and style to solely focus on having a bridal bonanza.  That being said, today we're going to look at some shoes, that may or may not be potential wedding shoes.  Eek!  Don't kill me, they are still fashion and not gaudy rhinestone numbers!

Pour La Victoire Evelia.
I like the daintyness and retro feel to these.  I love the baby blue color, but I'm considering purple.

Betsey Johnson Ice
These are very diva-licious and fulfill my inner-princess dream.  I have never been the glitter type, but I'm somehow drawn to these more than I should be.

Butter Coraline Plaform
So yes, it's a little more "bridal" and yes, its very dramatic.  Maybe I secretly want to be Selita Ebanks in the Kanye West "Runaway" video? Maybe it's because I will also be wearing a feather fascinator on my head? Either way, I love these babies.

What are your thoughts? Which one do you like?

JAHVOIHDBAWLKNEG'VDOIJ

I'm getting married!!!  Boyfriend, now fiance, proposed after I got home from work!! You'll have to forgive me for the utter sappiness that is about to be exposed.  Also excuse my lax look, but it was a long, hot, and humid day.

The most perfect ring in the world.
Love of my life.
My version of American Beauty.
If you want to hear the story, let me know.  Otherwise, I'll save it for wedding blogs.  I am so happy!

Down the Aisle

This Sunday I had the pleasure of attending my boyfriend's brother's wedding.  It was located in a mansion in Long Island with vast land and traditionally decorated rooms with giant ceilings.  It was quite the occasion.
Me and the bf.
Super bad lighting. Ignore the overly bronzed face.
Me, in all my glory.
I'm more than ready for my close up.
