I'm originally from the Midwest (born in Ohio, raised in Indiana) and moved to NY 3 years ago. Fun Fact: I've moved 5 times in the 3 years I've been here. Please don't attempt to break my record. It's not fun, I promise!
I previously worked in buying in the retail industry and didn't feel that it was right. I currently work at a cancer hospital doing event planning work. I love to swim and scuba, which sadly happen rarely. Traveling is always a good thing in my book. My music palette ranges from Jewel and Barrington Levy to Mos Def and Ingrid Michelson. I love to read, preferably David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs, or other snarky writers. I'm also a huge fan of Malcolm Gladwell and other fun and easy psychological reads (They do exist!). Other hobbies include exploring the city and making endless weird faces, as you've seen already.
I studied Arts Administration and Theatre at Butler University in Indianapolis, mainly so I could take as many costume classes as a girl could ever want! Now I'm studying Fashion Merchandising at Fashion Institute of Technology and should graduate next spring if things go as planned.
As for what I want to do in my life, I don't know. I came to NY on a mission, but the only constant in life is change. I would like to be happy, grow old with my future husband, and start a family. Sorry for the sap factor, but it's true! Hopefully a lightbulb will go off in my head and something will click.
