55th Street

Do you ever see artwork and are so mesmerized that you can't stop staring?  It's one of those moments where you thank God for being alive and being able to see the beauty in the world.  I know it sounds a tad bit dramatic, but it's such a fulfilling experience that happens so sparingly that you have to treasure it when it actually happens.

This is the part where I introduce you to Ariana from 55th Street.  She is incredibly talented and is able to capture moments that tell a story, rather than just a pretty face.  Let's learn some more about her!

When did you start photography?
I actually started with photography about two years ago while I was in Barcelona during the summer, which is filled with some of the most unique and interesting people all over the city. I decided I would spend every day there wandering around with my little snapshot camera and follow them around. The semester after that I enrolled in my first photography class at school.

What are some of your inspirations?
People. Even if some of them will never know it but somehow they have inspired me just by looking at them for a couple of seconds while crossing the street in a random city. When I stop/stalk someone to photograph them I make sure they know that they some how have inspired this random girl who they might never see again.

What is your ultimate goal (either photography or life in general)?
I would love to work with fashion creative direction for a magazine.

What can we expect from you next?
I am a person who is more about the now, the moment. I like to let myself be surprised with everyday. With that being said, I would say that NOW I have found myself more and more into black and white portraits, a single photo that can summarize the essence of a person, quite a challenge but I am loving it.
